Lower Island put-in (Whitstable)
This put-in sits on the shingle foreshore at Lower Island, on Whitstable's seafront just east of the harbour, where the Swale's tidal channel opens toward the Thames Estuary. Whitstable Harbour dries to soft mud at low water springs, so the state of the tide governs how far you carry a board before reaching water.
