Sandsayre Pier, Leebitton

Sandsayre Pier at Leebitton, on the south Mainland near Sandwick, is the departure point for the seasonal boat crossing to the island of Mousa across Mousa Sound, a trip of about 15 minutes. The pier dates from around the 1850s, has an old boatshed converted into a visitor centre, and Mousa Sound is regarded as one of the better places in Britain to see harbour porpoise.
