Bohemia Promenade slipway, Trusthorpe (north)
An open-coast slipway on the North Sea at Trusthorpe, between Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea on the Lincolnshire coast. The water here is part of a straight, macro-tidal stretch of beach where the stumps of a submerged ancient forest occasionally surface at very low tides.
The beach here dries a long way out at low water, so the distance between the slipway and the sea shifts markedly through the tide. This part of the coast is nourished with dredged sand most years under the Environment Agency's Saltfleet-to-Gibraltar Point beach-management programme, and the frontage is held by a sea wall and by timber and rock groynes.
A concrete outfall just south of the slipway carries the Woldgrift Drain out to sea through a culvert and tidal gate, alongside an Internal Drainage Board pumping station: a fixed structure on this stretch of beach.
