This slipway sits on The Shore in Alloa, launching onto the tidal reach of the River Forth close to the site of the former Alloa Harbour, which closed to shipping in 1970. The water here is tidal and brackish, and a little way downstream the river widens past Alloa Inch, a reed-bed and salt-marsh nature reserve, before opening into the Firth of Forth.
