Upper Forth Boat ClubSea

Upper Forth Boat Club

Falkirk, Scotland

Upper Forth Boat Club is a sailing and motor-boating club at Grangepans in Bo'ness, on the Firth of Forth. Members' boats lie on drying moorings on soft mud, reachable from shore for about three hours either side of high water, and the club's patent slip with launching bogies avoids the need for a crane.

Little Carriden put-in (Muirhouses)Sea

Little Carriden put-in (Muirhouses)

Falkirk, Scotland

This is one of two adjoining slipways at Carriden Boatyard, on the south shore of the Forth Estuary at Little Carriden, close to Muirhouses and the eastern edge of Bo'ness. The yard's main slip takes craft up to 15 tonnes and yard customers can launch on it without charge.

Little Carriden put-in (Muirhouses)Sea

Little Carriden put-in (Muirhouses)

Falkirk, Scotland

This is the second of two slipways at Carriden Boatyard, a small working boatyard on the south shore of the Forth Estuary at Little Carriden, near Muirhouses east of Bo'ness. Tractor assistance for launching larger boats can be arranged locally through the yard.

Hope Park put-in (Blackness)Sea

Hope Park put-in (Blackness)

Falkirk, Scotland

This slipway sits on the upper Firth of Forth at Blackness, next to the pier and clubhouse of Blackness Boat Club, a short walk from Blackness Castle. Blackness Bay dries out completely at low tide, so launch timing depends on the state of the tide.

Falkirk Wheel SlipwayCanal

Falkirk Wheel Slipway

Falkirk, Scotland

This slipway is in the basin at the foot of the Falkirk Wheel, the rotating boat lift that joins the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Union Canal 24 metres above, in the Tamfourhill area of Falkirk. The basin is a non-tidal freshwater canal basin.

Bantaskin put-in (Falkirk)Canal

Bantaskin put-in (Falkirk)

Falkirk, Scotland

This slipway is on the Union Canal at Bantaskine Park on the western edge of Falkirk, close to Bantaskine Bridge and roughly 600 metres south of the Falkirk Wheel basin. A boathouse beside the bridge houses a Seagull Trust trip boat used for accessible canal outings.
