Highland, ScotlandA concrete slipway on the shore of Loch na Cairidh at Strollamus, a small crofting township on Skye between Broadford and Sconser. The sea loch here faces the island of Scalpay.
SeaLoch Glendhu head slipway
Highland, ScotlandThis remote slipway sits at the head of Loch Glendhu (Loch a' Ghlinne Dhuibh), one of the twin sea lochs running inland from Kylesku, close to where the Abhainn a' Ghlinne Dhuibh river enters and near the Glendhu bothy. It is well inland from any road, reached either by the track from Kylestrome or by sea kayak from the slipways at Kylesku.

Highland, ScotlandThis slipway sits on the River Laxford near Achfary, just below where the river leaves Loch Stack in the Reay Forest. The Laxford is one of Sutherland's noted salmon rivers, running about seven kilometres northwest from the loch to Loch Laxford and the sea.

Highland, ScotlandThis slipway sits within Glen Affric National Nature Reserve, on the River Affric between Loch Affric and Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin, beyond the point where the public road ends at the foot of Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin. Cannich is the nearest village, reached along the single-track glen road. The exact water feature at this point could not be pinned down from available mapping, and the access track may be a private estate route rather than a public one.
LochOverscaig slipway (Loch Shin)
Highland, ScotlandA slipway on the shore of Loch Shin beside the A838 at Overscaig, next to the Overscaig Hotel, in Sutherland's North West Highlands. Loch Shin is the largest loch in Sutherland at about 17 miles long, running from Lairg in the south-east to Overscaig, and its level was raised over 30 feet by the Lairg Dam hydro-electric scheme in the 1950s. The harvested name 'Highland put-in' was a generic placeholder and has been replaced with a name reflecting the actual location.
LochLoch na Sealga put-in (Fisherfield)
Highland, ScotlandLoch na Sealga is a remote freshwater loch in the Fisherfield Forest wilderness of Wester Ross, with no direct road access. It is reached by a long estate track from Corrie Hallie on the A832 or from Gruinard Bay, close to Shenavall bothy, and its waters have been used for packrafting trips through the area.

Highland, ScotlandThis slipway launches onto Loch Laxford close to Foindle on the loch's south shore, a few metres from another mapped slipway node at the same spot. Loch Laxford is a sheltered sea loch used by sea kayakers exploring its skerries and inlets between Scourie and Kinlochbervie.

Highland, ScotlandThis is a slipway on the shore of Loch a' Chàirn Bhàin (also called Loch Cairnbawn), the sea inlet off Eddrachillis Bay between Kylesku and Scourie. It sits close to the Loch a' Mhuilinn National Nature Reserve, a peninsula of ancient oakwood whose OS mapping OSM's own note points to. The reserve's shore is otherwise reachable only on foot from a small car park on the A894, so this slipway gives water access to that stretch of coast.

Highland, ScotlandThis second slipway lies around 140 metres north of the main Melness-side crossing point on the Kyle of Tongue Causeway, reaching the same tidal stretch of the loch. Conditions match the neighbouring slipway, with fast currents near the bridge and extensive mudflats at low tide.

Highland, ScotlandThis point marks the downstream end of the portage route around Head Banger, a grade 5 rapid on the River Roy gorge in Glen Roy. It lies about 150 metres below the inspection point where paddlers leave the water, inside a remote gorge well below the level of Glenroy Road.

The OSM node marks where paddlers get out on river left to look at or carry around Head Banger, a grade 5 rapid on a left-hand bend. It sits inside a steep-sided gorge reached by a long walk-in from Glenroy Road, well below road level.

Its small harbour and pier serve as the Pentland Ferries mainland terminal to St Margaret's Hope in Orkney, and the bay sees strong tidal currents and, in the right conditions, is used for surfing.
