Greater Manchester, EnglandTrafford Rowing Club's slipway opens onto the Bridgewater Canal at Walton Park Sports Centre in Sale, the club's home water since it relocated from Dane Road. All craft on the canal, including paddleboards, need a Bridgewater Canal licence or an equivalent, and a British Canoeing licence covers canoes, kayaks and SUPs for passage on the canal free of charge.

Salford City Council owns some of the Quays' waterways while Peel and other private owners hold the rest, and organised paddling here runs through providers such as Salford Watersports Centre.

Greater Manchester, EnglandThe Huddersfield Narrow Canal crosses the Pennines between Huddersfield and Ashton-under-Lyne over 74 locks, climbing to a summit level that carries the highest canal tunnel in Britain at Standedge. Wool Road's slipway launches onto that climb through Uppermill, in the Saddleworth valley.

Greater Manchester, EnglandThis put-in on the River Mersey sits below Trafford Metrovick Rugby Football and Cricket Club in Sale, at the start of the Mersey Paddle Trail's final leg downstream to Carrington Recreational Field. It also lies near where the separate Mersey Valley Way, the 13-mile national river walk from Stockport through south Manchester, ends at Ashton-on-Mersey. The river runs here through the wooded, flood-defended banks of the Mersey Valley, with Sale Water Park's flood-storage lake and the Broad Ees Dole nature reserve on the opposite bank.
